We are looking for a STORE ASSOCIATE to provide excellent customer service and meet sales requirements for our thrift stores.
This is a part‑time, hourly position.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE- High School degree or equivalent
- Retail or thrift experience preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of cash handling and cashier procedures, helpful
- Ability and willingness to learn new methods to improve skills and proficiency
As part of the thrift store team, you will be tasked with a variety of jobs under the supervision of the Store Manager and/or Supervisor. Jobs may include receiving donations, sorting, hanging clothes, pricing, stocking the sales floor, arranging merchandise in displays, operating the cash register, accurate money handling, processing credit cards, and helping carry out purchased merchandise. Must have good communication with staff, volunteers, and customers, keeping the store clean and organized with excellent customer service.
Must adhere to mandatory uniform, cell phone, break, and smoking policies.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
REQUIRED
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Team player who cooperates with supervisors, staff, volunteers, and customers to achieve store goals
- Self‑starter, ability to problem‑solve or seek assistance when needed
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Must manage time effectively
- Must work with the public in a courteous, respectful manner
- Must perform well in a fast‑paced environment and stay poised under pressure
- Must have a customer service mindset
- Must understand and apply cash controls and cashier procedures, including credit card sales, vouchers, and mandatory acceptance of registers
- Must have general knowledge of business protocols for safe, efficient operations
- Must keep information confidential
- Must produce written information such as research and donation receipts
- Must comply with Protecting the Mission requirements and mandatory TSA background check
- Must sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Must stand for prolonged periods on a hard floor
- Must continuously grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead
- Must lift 35–50 lbs repetitively
- Must lift objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead to stock shelves
Must perform all other duties as assigned by a Store Manager or Store Supervisor.
