We are hiring for part-time cashier and customer support roles working in the store. Friday through Sunday are our busiest days, and strong front-end coverage is essential.

Availability for at least one or two of these days is required.

If you enjoy working with people, staying active, and being part of a team, this is a great fit.

• Operate the register and keep lines moving during busy periods

Our stores get busy on weekends as customers work on their homes and projects—this is a great role for someone who enjoys being part of that energy.

Our story began in 2006, when the Dowdell and Shellenberg families partnered to purchase three Ace Hardware stores in Livingston, Butte, and Anaconda, Montana. From the beginning, the vision was bigger than simply operating great hardware stores: we wanted to be the best employer in the communities we serve.

Since then, we’ve grown from three stores to five, expanding into Northwest Montana with Glacier Ace Hardware in Evergreen and Columbia Falls Ace Hardware. While our footprint has grown, our commitment has stayed the same. We are proud to be a Montana‑owned and operated company focused on creating a positive experience for our employees, customers, and communities.

We’ve grown a lot since 2006, but our mission remains the same: we are here to positively impact our employees, customers and communities.

Our chain of hardware stores was founded in June 2006 by the Dowdell and Shellenberg families of Livingston, Montana. They purchased three stores in Livingston, Butte and Anaconda, MT. Matt was one of Tom's tax clients when Tom approached him to go into business together. He easily drew Matt in by telling him that he wanted to be a business owner to be "the best employer in three communities."

So, their partnership began with that vision in mind. Matt oversees the daily business operations while Tom manages the finances.
After 15 years in business, we have the opportunity to grow! In 2020, Matt and Tom bought The Hardware Store in Evergreen, MT and are in the process of converting it into an Ace Hardware. Nearby, in Columbia Falls, MT, we are adding a fifth Ace Hardware by building the store from the ground up. We are very excited to take on the company expansion and grow our work family!
