SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and winning new business opportunities within the Army. The role requires a growth‑oriented hunter who can source opportunities, execute the capture process, and participate in proposal development. Success requires synthesis of customer requirements, building strategic relationships, and leading cross‑functional teams to secure wins.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accountable for winning at least $15M in total contract value each year and may be incentivized to exceed this target.
  • Create and manage a pipeline of Army opportunities to achieve growth targets.
  • Guide efforts through the Gate process and develop proposals with technical, management, staffing, and pricing components.
  • Apply customer requirements to design winning solutions and strategies.
  • Establish and maintain teaming relationships with industry partners.
  • Maintain long‑term relationships with Army customers up to C‑level executives.
  • Source internal and external technical expertise in collaboration with the Director, and support solicitation responses.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Work independently with minimal direction.
  • Deep knowledge of Army acquisition processes.
  • Proven success in selling IT services and securing opportunities.
  • Experience in a similar role with sales target attainment.
  • Familiarity with federal account/capture management methodologies such as Shipley.
  • Highly organized, managing multiple simultaneous sales efforts.
  • Team player and effective independently.
  • Understanding of IT professional services.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of interacting with all management levels.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of business development or account management experience, including at least 5 years with DoD accounts.
  • Detailed knowledge of capture, proposal, and delivery life cycles.
  • Understanding of the federal procurement process and GWACs.
  • Leadership in executing account plans to acquire new business.
  • Experience in a services‑focused company.
  • Experience presenting to federal SES‑level leadership.
