Job SummarySecurity Staff are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, and the public while supporting rehabilitation and successful reentry efforts. In this role you will supervise adult male felons in the custody of the Flathead Valley Reentry Center and contribute to the safe, orderly, and effective operation of the facility.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct facility, grounds, and offender inspections and searches
- Monitor security operations and maintain situational awareness
- Prepare reports, disciplinary documentation, counts, and logs
- Operate security and surveillance equipment
- Recognize and respond to critical behavior and emergencies
- Restrain and control offenders when necessary
- Conduct substance use testing
- Supervise offender movement inside and outside the facility
- Assist with transportation duties
- Oversee janitorial and housekeeping assignments completed by residents
- Support facility entrance security and first aid response
- High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required
- One year of experience in a security‑related field is preferred
- Background check including criminal records check, child/patient/offender abuse registries will be required prior to being hired
- Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis
Health Insurance, Paid Leave & Holidays, Retirement Plan. Telework not eligible.
Salary$24.01 per hour
