Advance your career with Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc as a Professional Archives Assistant at the Secwépemc Museum. This full-time position offers hands-on support in archival operations and cultural outreach.
As an Archives Assistant in the Language & Culture department, your key responsibilities will include the documentation and preservation of artifacts while assisting the Museum Archivist. You will manage collections, engage with researchers, and help create educational resources that celebrate the Secwépemc culture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate cataloguing and indexing of archival materials
• Maintain detailed records of archival accessions
• Help with digitization projects and general reference support
• Collaborate on educational materials and museum exhibits
• Provide curated information to visitors and researchers
Requirements:
• Certificate in Archival or Museum Studies, or equivalent
• Knowledge of archival standards and practices
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Commitment to learning and engaging with Secwépemc culture
• Ability to work respectfully in a community-focused environment
