Position: RCMP Records Clerk in Merritt
Location: Merritt

Join the City of Merritt as an RCMP Disclosure and Records Clerk, providing exceptional service and support within the police environment. This role is vital for addressing inquiries, managing sensitive information, and assisting front-line officers.

As a member of the City of Merritt team, your mission will include promoting public safety while ensuring efficient administrative support for the local RCMP Detachment. You'll engage with the community, processing both inquiries and complaints, and utilizing RCMP information systems such as CPIC and PRIME. This fast-paced role combines client service and operational logistics to enhance the efficiency of police work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide client-centered services, addressing inquiries and complaints

• Assist RCMP officers in dispatching files and operating radios

• Maintain police records and files in compliance with protocols

• Conduct database searches for operational needs

• Process Police Information Checks and manage confidential information

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in criminology or related field

• Two years of experience in office and records management

• Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Word/Excel

• Knowledge of privacy legislation and RCMP systems

• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
