This Kamloops office is home to the centralized corporate Billing and Accounts Receivable department for the entire health authority. With over 35 full-time employees, the department handles many billing and receivable functions ranging from physician recovery billings to in-hospital care, residential and home support collections, and more.
The Accounts Receivable Clerk Performs Clerical Duties Including:- Generates billings and statements of account from the computer, or manually;
- Posts charges and payments to the Accounts Receivable sub ledger;
- Collects accounts in accordance with policies and procedures;
- Follows up on overdue accounts by initiating and responding to correspondence and telephone contacts from patients, agencies, and insurers.
- A 5-minute typing test (45+ NWPM) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months (non-supervised tests not accepted);
- Certificate or Official Transcript showing proof of completion of recognized Accounting Course(s);
- Resume indicating at least two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- Cover Letter stating availability to start in a new position and willingness for on-call, casual work;
- Certificates/Diplomas/Transcripts must be from accredited Schools/Colleges/Universities.
BC’s health system is in the process of transformation. As part of the planned changes, certain IM/IT, Finance, and Supply Chain roles are expected to be in scope for transition to a new provincial shared services organization, BC Shared Health Services. Candidates applying to positions in these areas should be aware that, while the role is currently employed by the Health Authority, it may transition to BC Shared Health Services as part of the first or subsequent implementation phases.
