Economic Development & Ventures Leader

Location: Merritt

Advance your career with the Lower Nicola Indian Band as an Economic Development & Ventures Leader in Merritt, BC. This role integrates business development with community support, driving Indigenous economic participation.

In this full-time position reporting to the Director of Economic Development, you will champion the support of LNIB Members' business endeavors and leverage external funding opportunities. Your focus will be on sustainable development, grant coordination, and forming strategic partnerships that benefit the community and promote economic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support entrepreneurship initiatives for LNIB Members

• Coordinate grant writing and funding developments

• Promote community-based economic programs and services

• Foster collaborations with governmental and private partners

• Monitor economic trends to support strategic development

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

• At least 5 years in economic development roles

• Capability in using Microsoft 365 Suite

• Strong marketing and negotiation skills

• Preferred driver’s license and willingness for travel
