Lead economic growth initiatives with the Lower Nicola Indian Band in Merritt, BC. This full-time Director role will focus on sustainable development and business creation for community empowerment.
The Director of Economic Development is essential for advancing land stewardship and economic opportunities for LNIB Members. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will manage projects, develop business plans, and foster partnerships with government and industry stakeholders. This position is instrumental in ensuring that economic decisions align with cultural values and community goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement economic development strategies
• Research new business opportunities for LNIB
• Develop business plans and feasibility studies
• Support community needs assessments and development plans
• Promote sustainable economic development on LNIB lands
Requirements:
• Two-year certificate in Business Administration or related field
• Experience in economic development and land management
• Familiarity with Indigenous community economic frameworks
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Knowledge of funding proposal preparation
