Location: Merritt
Shape the economic future for the Lower Nicola Indian Band in Merritt, BC. As the Economic Development Director, you'll spearhead initiatives that support employment and sustainable growth in the community.
In this crucial full-time role, you'll provide leadership in economic planning and resource stewardship. You will collaborate with Chief & Council and other departments to align initiatives with community values. Your focus on job creation and revenue generation will help secure long-term benefits for LNIB Members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the creation of economic development strategies
• Identify and evaluate new economic opportunities
• Prepare business plans for Chief & Council review
• Ensure alignment of economic initiatives with community goals
• Manage major projects towards successful completion
Requirements:
• Two-year certificate in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Proven track record in community economic development
• Knowledge of natural resource management principles
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Experience in building partnerships with stakeholders
