Taxation Manager

Position Overview

We’re looking for a permanent, full‑time Taxation Manager to lead the City’s property tax operations and play a key role in delivering essential services to our community.

Reporting to the Financial Services Manager, you’ll serve as the City’s designated Collector under the Community Charter, overseeing the billing and collection of more than $200 million in annual revenue. As part of our Finance leadership team, you’ll help ensure the integrity of our financial systems while driving continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Lead property tax operations and oversee billing and collection of over $200 million in annual revenue.
Ensure financial system integrity and compliance with public sector accounting standards.
Drive continuous improvement and deliver outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

Post‑secondary Degree in Business Administration (or equivalent).

Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) and membership in a recognized accounting association.

Excellent knowledge of Public Sector Accounting and Reporting Standards, financial theory, and internal controls.

Five to seven years of progressive management experience, preferably in large organizations.

Experience with large financial systems.

Extensive knowledge of standard office PC software.

Strong leadership skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to deal with external and internal people professionally.

Proven ability to communicate complex financial information concisely and clearly to varied audiences.

Salary & Benefits

Annual salary: $. Exempt management position. 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Benefits include generous vacation, Earned Days Off, fitness facility access, instructional programs, and community volunteer opportunities.
