Financial Controller at Lower Nicola Indian Band

In this key position, you will oversee day-to-day financial tasks, manage reports, and mentor finance staff. You will ensure compliance with Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards while providing actionable insights to the Director of Finance.

Your role is crucial for accurate financial management and strategic financial planning within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial reports for administration and Council

• Maintain and manage general ledger and financial records

• Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes

• Ensure compliance with finance policies and regulations

• Supervise finance staff and mentor team development

Requirements:

• CPA designation preferred or equivalent experience

• Minimum five years of progressive accounting experience

• Expertise in Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Experience in an Indigenous organization is an asset
