We are seeking a strategic and driven Operations Manager to lead Bird’s operations in Kamloops, BC. This role has full ownership of the market’s performance, including P&L responsibility, operational execution, and team leadership. The Operations Manager will work closely with regional leadership to drive growth, optimize operations, and ensure Bird’s success in the city. This is a high-impact opportunity for a critical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is passionate about building and scaling teams.
Responsibilities- Own and manage the full operational lifecycle of the Kamloops market, including ridership performance, fleet operations, and supply chain execution.
- Drive strategic market growth using data-driven insights to increase market share, improve operational efficiency, and execute local initiatives and campaigns.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of full-time and hourly employees, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for city officials, vendors, and third-party partners, building strong relationships to support smooth operations and community alignment.
- Identify operational challenges and implement creative, effective solutions through continuous process improvement.
- Manage financial performance by controlling costs, maintaining positive margins, and driving top-line growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams such as operations, marketing, and leadership to ensure alignment with broader company objectives and successful execution of local initiatives.
- 3+ years of relevant operations experience, including at least 1 year of people management.
- Demonstrated experience managing P&L and delivering measurable business outcomes in an operational or leadership role.
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day execution.
- Highly data-driven with proven problem-solving and process improvement skills; comfortable analyzing operational metrics to inform decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, frontline teams, and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing relationships with city officials, vendors, and third-party partners.
- Strong Excel and data management skills; experience with operational reporting and optimization tools is an asset.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Adaptable and innovative, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
