The City of Revelstoke is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to serve as the Building Maintenance Superintendent. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this exempt management role provides strategic and operational leadership for the maintenance, renewal, and lifecycle planning of all City-owned buildings and facilities. The position oversees service levels, staffing, budgets, contractor performance, asset management programs, and regulatory compliance to ensure City facilities remain safe, reliable, and well-maintained.
The Building Maintenance Superintendent leads preventative maintenance and capital planning initiatives, supports labour‑relations processes, guides performance management of facilities staff, and ensures alignment with applicable codes, safety regulations, and municipal standards. The role also provides management‑level response to escalated facility issues, oversees inspections and work‑order systems, and contributes to long‑term planning and corporate initiatives across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a proven facilities leader with extensive experience in building operations or construction maintenance, strong people‑management and communication skills, and a commitment to safe work practices, high‑quality service delivery, and effective stewardship of public assets. They bring sound judgment, a collaborative approach, and the ability to navigate complex operational, financial, and regulatory environments.
