Join the Lower Nicola Indian Band as a Senior Aquatic Manager in Merritt, British Columbia. This full-time position focuses on managing aquatic habitat restoration and fisheries programs for community enhancement.
As part of the Economic Development team, you will oversee the design and execution of fisheries initiatives along with regulatory compliance.
Your role involves managing field crews, ensuring quality project delivery, and fostering relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead habitat restoration and enhancement projects
• Supervise field staff and ensure safety protocols
• Develop project work plans and budgets
• Prepare technical reports and environmental assessments
• Support regulatory submissions and compliance efforts
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree preferred in Fisheries or related field
• Minimum 5 years in fisheries science or aquatic biology
• Proficient in environmental regulatory frameworks in BC
• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities
• Ability to conduct stakeholder engagements
