Lead impactful archaeological projects as the Field Director with WSP in BC. Manage survey and excavation efforts while collaborating with Indigenous groups and junior staff.
WSP offers an opportunity for an Archaeology Field Director to lead projects across British Columbia. This role involves ensuring all technical requirements are met, engaging with Indigenous communities, and mentoring the next generation of archaeologists. You will handle project management elements including scope, budget, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee archaeological surveys, testing, and excavations
• Collaborate with project teams and Indigenous stakeholders
• Mentor junior staff and provide leadership throughout projects
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and scopes effectively
• Track safety and quality documentation throughout the project
Requirements:
• Active pursuit of Field Director qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong independent work ethic as well as teamwork abilities
• Commitment to respectful collaboration with Indigenous communities
• Proficiency with data collection equipment and software
