In this leadership role, the Lands Manager will oversee all lands-related functions vital to Cook's Ferry Indian Band. The position requires a strategic thinker proficient in regulatory analysis and lands supervision, with a commitment to protecting Indigenous interests and promoting community-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the management of land referrals and compliance tracking
• Analyze legislation and policies affecting lands and resources
• Coordinate land use activities and community engagement processes
• Maintain partnerships with government and industry stakeholders
• Supervise operational functions of the Lands Department
Requirements:
• Educational background in environmental sciences or natural resource management
• Minimum five years of managerial experience in lands management
• Familiarity with First Nations legislation and processes
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Strong commitment to cultural principles and land preservation
