Position: Fire Chief for Coldwater Indian Band
Location: Merritt

Lead the fire department for the Coldwater Indian Band as Fire Chief, ensuring community safety through effective fire prevention and emergency response strategies. This leadership role requires proficient management skills and community engagement.

As the Fire Chief, you'll oversee daily operations, including staffing and resource management, while implementing fire prevention programs and safety policies. Your work will involve coordinating emergency responses and collaborating with community leaders to promote fire safety initiatives. You’ll also be responsible for training personnel and preparing essential reports regarding department activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily fire department operations, staffing, and training

• Develop fire prevention programs and policies to enhance safety

• Coordinate emergency responses to incidents effectively

• Manage departmental budgets, equipment, and maintenance schedules

• Liaise with community leaders to foster fire safety initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of fire service experience

• NFPA 1021 Fire Officer III certification required

• Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and protocols

• Proven ability to manage department resources effectively

• Willingness to work flexible hours for community needs
