The Opportunity:
We have a new opportunity for a Client Manager to join our team in Kamloops, BC. This role is ideal for a collaborative and entrepreneurial leader who is passionate about strengthening our relationships with Indigenous and local government clients while supporting continued growth in the Kamloops area.
This position is primarily oriented toward business development and client relationship management alongside project management. It is intended to expand our senior‑level sales capacity within the branch and will play a key role in building and sustaining a strong and diverse project pipeline. You will work closely with technical leaders across disciplines including civil engineering, landscape architecture, infrastructure planning, geomatics, geotechnical, environmental, and land development.

The successful candidate will be based in Kamloops, and open for frequent travel, including overnight stays, to support client relationships and business development activities throughout the surrounding communities.
What You’ll Do:
Directly reporting to the Senior Division Manager of our Kamloops branch, you will:
- Lead business development efforts with a focus on municipal and Indigenous clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across Kamloops and surrounding areas
- Identify and advance opportunities to support a growing and sustainable pipeline of work
- Build alignment with division managers and technical teams to execute client needs
- Support proposals, pursuits, and strategic positioning for key opportunities
- Develop new business opportunities and establish relationships with municipalities, Indigenous communities, developers, agencies, and key partners
- Represent McElhanney at community events, industry associations, and professional networks
- Contribute to strategic growth initiatives aligned with McElhanney’s Strategy 2030 priorities
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree, Diploma, or equivalent experience in engineering, environmental, planning, architecture, construction management, business, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10+ years of experience within consulting, municipal, Indigenous, or community infrastructure environments
- Professional designation is considered an asset but not required, provided the candidate has a strong understanding of the consulting environment
Skills & Attributes for Success:
- Based in Kamloops with deep familiarity of local markets
- Established and active relationships within Kamloops and the surrounding areas
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure, community development, and local growth trends within BC Interior markets
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to client communities across the area, including remote locations, with overnight stays and time away from home to support in person client engagement and relationship building
- Demonstrated success in business development, sales, and maintaining client relationships
- Ability to identify opportunities and translate them into pipeline growth
- Collaborative and practical approach to working across divisions and disciplines
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities

What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 per annum.…
