Join the Lower Nicola Indian Band's Lands Selection Committee as either a Youth or Elder Representative. Your participation is key to shaping land decisions and community guidance.
The Lower Nicola Indian Band seeks one Youth Representative (ages 16-29) and one Elder Representative to fill essential roles. These representatives are tasked with providing insights on land selection and stewardship matters, promoting the community's interests. Engaging in committee meetings offers an opportunity to share experiences and contribute to impactful decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Share community perspectives on land and stewardship
• Attend necessary committee meetings and discussions
• Learn about land governance and decision-making processes
• Offer cultural teachings and knowledge as an Elder
• Collaborate with Council in a respectful manner
Requirements:
• Membership in the Lower Nicola Indian Band is required
• Youth applicants should be between 16-29 years old
• Elders must be recognized as such within the community
• Commitment to community planning and respectful collaboration
• Prior relevant experience in community involvement is desirable
