Join the effort to advance Indigenous conservation in Nlaka’pamux Traditional Territory as the IPCA Coordinator. This primarily office-based role involves significant community engagement and collaboration.
In this role, you will oversee the implementation of the Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area project. You will plan and facilitate community sessions to incorporate Traditional Ecological Knowledge, while also supporting the Lower Nicola Indian Band IPCA Steering Committee. Your commitment to Indigenous sovereignty and conservation will guide all project activities in collaboration with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate community engagement and gather valuable input
• Support communications between the Steering Committee and community members
• Manage project deliverables and timelines to ensure progress
• Organize and document committee meetings
• Develop communication materials for community outreach
Requirements:
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Experience working with Indigenous governance frameworks
• Knowledge of Indigenous-led conservation strategies
• Previous project coordination experience in relevant settings
• Preferred degree in environmental science or similar
