Empower Indigenous communities as the Indigenous Outreach Coordinator for the Kamloops Film Society. This part-time, hybrid role focuses on community engagement and program support leading up to the 2026 Festival.

The Kamloops Film Society is seeking a part-time Indigenous Outreach Coordinator for a 10-week contract. You will strengthen relationships with Indigenous organizations, artists, and community leaders in the Thompson-Nicola region.

Your role involves listening, building connections, and advancing awareness of Indigenous film programming, emphasizing culturally respectful engagement practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with Indigenous communities in BC Interior

• Implement outreach strategies for the 2026 Indigenous Film Festival

• Attend community events and meetings as KFS representative

• Support event planning and programming for the festival

• Create culturally relevant outreach materials and support internal learning

Requirements:

• Experience with Indigenous community engagement

• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and issues in BC

• Strong communication and facilitation skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• Willingness to conduct travel within the region
