Company Overview
JGL Commodities is a Saskatchewan-based grain merchandising and commodity trading company focused on building strong relationships and delivering practical grain marketing solutions for producers and customers across Western Canada.
Key ResponsibilitiesGrain Origination and Producer Relations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with grain producers and customers
- Originate grain through proactive producer engagement and territory development
- Negotiate grain purchase contracts and pricing agreements
- Support producers with grain marketing opportunities and market insight
- Identify opportunities to grow volumes and strengthen customer relationships
- Represent JGL Commodities professionally within the agriculture industry and local communities
Market and Logistics Support
- Monitor commodity markets, futures, basis levels, and market trends
- Coordinate grain movement and logistics with internal teams and transportation partners
- Work collaboratively with operations, logistics, and accounting teams to ensure efficient execution
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and customer records
- Support communication between producers, customers, and internal departments
- Assist in identifying efficiencies and opportunities to improve processes and service levels
- Previous experience in grain buying, grain merchandising, commodity trading, agriculture retail, or a related agriculture role is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of prairie agriculture and grain markets
- Experience building and maintaining customer relationships
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required
- Relationship-focused and customer-oriented
- Robust problem-solving and decision‑making abilities
