Location: Merritt
Contribute to cultural heritage and environmental conservation as an Environmental Field Worker with LNIB. Conduct field assessments, monitor development activities, and support research initiatives.
As part of LNIB, you will engage in field reviews, assessing proposed development for cultural and environmental concerns. Key to your role will be monitoring activities to safeguard these values, along with assisting in data collection for various projects. Strong communication and technical skills are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform field surveys for cultural heritage and environmental resources
• Enter data accurately using an iPad during field assessments
• Communicate findings through small reports and presentations
• Operate multiple applications effectively on an iPad
• Utilize online mapping platforms for enhanced project support
Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
• Understanding of Nlaka’pamux resource use and cultural practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work under varied weather conditions
• Willingness to learn the Nlaka’pamux language
