Job Summary  Boart Longyear is recruiting Surface Diamond Driller Assistants . The role is physically demanding but offers competitive pay and a rewarding career. You will work in a global environment assisting with drilling operations across mineral exploration, environmental, and infrastructure projects.

Job Responsibilities   Follow all established safety policies, procedures, and the law at all times.
Safely perform all duties, taking care of equipment and co‑workers.
Maintain general condition of site equipment and tools, obtaining optimum life.
Provide training to new Driller Assistants in a safe environment.
Be physically fit for work.
Work under the instructions of a driller, field supervisor, or division manager.
Work safely and follow EHS policies and procedures and conduct local risk control.
Apply first aid as needed.
Support drilling operations: handle rods and drilling tools, collect and handle samples, mix drilling fluids, carry out basic maintenance of tools and equipment, housekeeping, supplies count, perform basic measurement and calculations, carry out basic operator maintenance, complete pre‑start checks, refuel vehicles and plant.
Operate non‑drilling equipment such as light or heavy vehicles, cranes, telehandlers, forklifts, skidders, track‑mounted utility vehicles, etc.
Monitor a safe workplace, maintain workplace safety, and apply risk management processes for the elimination of work‑related injuries, damage to equipment, and incident‑related lost time.
Maintain accurate operating records, including daily drill reports and inventory logs.
Contribute to and establish effective workplace relationships.
Provide training through instruction and demonstration of work skills, coaching, and mentoring to other field employees.
Position Qualifications   Valid First Aid Certificate.
Proficient language skills, literacy, and numeracy to perform all job‑related tasks.
Labor background is considered an asset.
Exposure to diamond drilling environments and techniques is considered an asset.
Successful candidate must meet the Fitness for Duty program standards.
Common Core certification is considered an asset.
Compensation, Benefits and Perks   Hourly wage: $28.16/hr – $30.42/hr plus meter bonus.
