Position: Field Service Representative (Technologist / Technician)

Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Field Service Representative. This position is based at our Delta, BC or Kamloops, BC facility and will require travel to customer sites in the local area. In addition to offering benefits on day one of employment, you will also receive a company vehicle, company cell phone & laptop, tools, uniform/boot allowance, and paid overtime.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $82,000 - $102,000 a year. Salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

In This Function You Will
  • Provide field service engineering, technical assistance, scheduling and sales support direction to customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment.
  • Responsible to self‑manage assigned projects for electrical equipment, knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Deliver technical solutions to customers.
  • Perform less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations.
  • Mentor less experienced technicians and provide technical training.
  • Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.
Qualifications

Required (Basic)

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical field from an accredited institution or Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certification/Ticket.
  • Three (3) years of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systems.
  • Local business travel to customer sites required.
  • Business travel to United States for training on safety and Eaton products is required.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license is required.
  • No relocation assistance is provided.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with protective relays.
  • Experience in performing power distribution measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis.
  • Class A FSR (Field Safety Representative) certificate of qualification.
Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem‑solving skills.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Understanding of the company’s and competitor’s electrical and electronic products.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long‑term customer satisfaction.
