Irrigation Maintenance

Position: Irrigation Maintenance Role
Join School District No. 73 as an Irrigation Maintenance Technician in Kamloops-Thompson. This full-time role focuses on installation, repair, and upkeep of irrigation systems across the district.

This permanent position involves working 10 months a year, with a layoff in November and December. Under the guidance of the Grounds Manager, you’ll perform skilled tasks like installing new systems, repairing components, and maintaining existing setups. Independent judgment and initiative are essential as you carry out these varied responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with layout and installation of irrigation systems

• Perform warranty work and repairs on irrigation components

• Maintain and clean irrigation heads regularly

• Start and shut down systems seasonally

• Complete other related duties assigned by senior staff

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education and irrigation training preferred

• Two years' professional experience in irrigation maintenance

• Level 1 and 2 Certified Irrigation Technician

• Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License with Code 20

• Able to perform physically demanding tasks
