YOUR ROLEThis apprenticeship opportunity is for a Skilled Trades BC registered apprentice who have completed their foundations course in one of the following trades to gain their first year of industrial work experience in a Kraft Pulp Mill:
- Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Millwright
- Pipefitter
- Electrician
- Instrument Mechanic
- HVAC Mechanic
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, Apprentices work closely with Red Seal tradespeople to gain knowledge in their trade and support maintenance activities throughout the Mill. The successful candidate will work well within a team of trades people, can follow direction, is willing to learn, is open to feedback and has a positive attitude.

- Ability to follow direction and is open to constructive criticism;
- Excellent verbal and written commination skills;
- Ability to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a variety of assignments with conflicting priorities and deadlines;
- Positive attitude with the ability to collaborate well with others;
- Strong problem solving & analytical skills, and excellent judgment;
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;
- Detail oriented.
- Skilled Trades BC registered apprentice;
- Foundations completed in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Millwright, Pipefitter, Electrical, Instrument Mechanics or HVAC;
- Have not yet completed their first year of apprenticeship
- Strong mechanical aptitude;
- Previous experience working in a safety sensitive work environment is an asset;
- Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite is an asset.
