Salary: $3,471 to $4,388 per month (SR-10, Step C to I).
Duties SummaryPerform senior‑level clerical work that involves a wide range of clerical functions where some originating and planning of work are required, and/or a variety of highly complex clerical or administrative tasks that are primarily substantive. Work requires evaluating information for conformance with established requirements, interpreting laws, rules, and regulations to determine appropriate disposition, and using judgment when problems are not covered by standard instructions.
MinimumQualification Requirements
Legal Authorization To Work: The State of Hawaii requires all applicants to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or otherwise eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Basic
Experience:
Six (6) months of work demonstrating knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic; ability to read and understand oral and written instructions; write simply and directly; and compare words and numbers quickly and accurately. - Clerical
Experience:
Two (2) years of work involving a variety of clerical tasks, demonstrating knowledge of office practices and procedures, and the ability to carry out procedures in clerical work systems, and operate office equipment and technologies. - Supervisory Aptitude: Possession of supervisory aptitude is required for some positions. Demonstrated through leadership roles, completion of supervisory training, or favorable appraisals indicating potential for supervisory duties.
- Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements.
- Keyboarding/Computer Skill: Some positions may require keyboarding proficiency of 40 net words per minute and the ability to use computers, word processing, and other software applications.
- Special Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry items of various weights, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to comprehend, read, write, and speak in a language other than English, such as Hawaiian, Japanese, or American Sign Language. - License: A valid driver’s license is required for some positions.
