Qualifications- A master’s degree in construction management or a closely related field (civil engineering, architecture, construction science, building engineering, or facilities management) is required. A doctorate is preferred. At least three years of professional experience in construction management, facilities management, project engineering, or related fields is required. Industry leadership or supervisory experience and previous university‑level teaching experience are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach effectively in a multicultural environment and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.
- BYU‑Hawaii prefers to hire qualified members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑Day Saints in good standing. Eligible applicants who are church members must hold a current temple recommend and receive clearance from the Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.
- Teaching (typically 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters) in the following subject areas:
- Construction methods, materials, and building systems
- Construction documents, plan reading, and specifications
- Project planning, preconstruction, estimating, and procurement
- Construction and facilities project management
- Building operations and facilities management
- Construction safety, OSHA standards, and risk management
- Sustainable construction and building practices
- Leadership, teamwork, and professional communication
- Emerging technologies in construction, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), Bluebeam, artificial intelligence (AI), and related digital tools
- Scholarship, creative endeavor, ongoing professional development, and university service.
- Full commitment to BYU‑Hawaii’s mission and learning framework.
- Salary range: 115K to 131K, depending on credentials, rank, and experience.
- Housing stipend.
- Relocation expense package.
- Annually renewable contract eligible for Continuing Faculty Status (tenure‑track equivalent).
