Description

This posting fills various Educational Assistant positions. The authorized level is Educational Assistant III, but applications are accepted down to level I when needed.

Salary Range

• Educational Assistant I, SR‑10: $3,019.78 per month
• Educational Assistant II, SR‑12: $3,260.76 per month
• Educational Assistant III, SR‑14: $3,526.98 per month

Examples of Duties

• Creates healthy, challenging learning environments; greets children, models behavior, and encourages positive social rapport.
• Implements and assesses learning experiences; sets up indoor and outdoor activities; supervises group and individual learning.
• Observes and documents child development and learning; collects data as directed by the teacher.
• Ensures health and safety: assists with toileting, handwashing, eating, resting, and reports unsafe areas; sanitizes materials and supports children in stressful situations.
• Prepares and maintains materials and environment; organizes learning centers; observes use of materials and offers modifications; consults with the teacher.
• Supervises activities before, during, and after class.

Minimum Qualifications

• Special Requirement:
  Possession of a current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential OR completion of training that meets CDA preparation requirements (including 120 hours of formal training or enrollment in a CDA preparation program with evidence of progress).

  Education:
  
  High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND one of the following:
  • 48 semester credits of baccalaureate level courses from an accredited institution (including 3 math and 3 English credits).
  • Associate in Arts or Science degree or higher with at least 48 baccalaureate level credits.
  • Successful completion of the Para Pro Assessment provided by the Education Testing Service.

• Educational Assistant I: 0 years general experience & 0 years specialized experience.
• Educational Assistant II: 1 year general experience & 0 years specialized experience.
• Educational Assistant III: 1 year general experience & 1 year specialized experience.

  Direct interaction with people, ability to observe, evaluate, and report; record keeping; basic educational program awareness.
• Specialized
  
  Experience:
  
  Direct student contact and management; familiarity with academic, social, behavioral, and developmental issues; use of instructional materials and instructional support tasks.
