This position will be for a lower elementary grade special education resource teacher. SpEd teacher will support students both in a resource setting and in a general education setting (pull out and push in).
Preferred Qualifications- Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board.
- Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting.
- Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
- Exercise independent and professional judgment in carrying out daily functions.
- Maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Grasp new concepts quickly and apply them effectively.
- Work effectively with others.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; must obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license within three years if not already held; must enroll in a teacher education program and demonstrate active pursuit of licensing each year.
