Qualifications
  • A doctorate in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, Education or related field is required, specializing in any of the following areas:
    English language pedagogy, language acquisition, language testing, language technology. Foreign equivalent degree from a nationally accredited institution accepted.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching requirement is 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters in some (but not all) of the following subject areas/courses:
    • Advanced I & II English as an International Language Courses
    • TESOL & Linguistics courses
  • Scholarship, creative endeavor, ongoing professional development, and university service are required.
  • BYU-Hawaii’s primary focus is undergraduate learning and teaching. The individual should be fully committed to student learning ().
Benefits
  • Salary range: 103-120K
  • A limited relocation expense package is provided.
  • Annually renewable contract eligible for Continuing Faculty Status (BYU-H equivalent of “tenure-track”).
  • Standard BYU-Hawaii benefits package for regular full‑time employees.

Winter 2027 (start date is flexible)
