What You Will Do- Supervise preliminary and final surveys.
- Design structures such as reservoirs, retaining walls, bridges, culverts, tunnels, pipelines, sewers, sidewalks, highways, etc.
- Assign subordinate engineers and inspectors to construction projects.
- Settle disputes between contractors and inspectors.
- Approve construction changes.
- Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS), Capital Projects Division:
- Two vacancies in the Design & Plan Review Branch
- One vacancy in the Construction Management Pipeline Section
- Department of Design and Construction (DDC):
- Two vacancies in the Civil Division
- Three vacancies in the Facilities Division
- One vacancy in the Structural Support Section responsible for managing engineering projects involving bridge improvements, earth movement and slope stabilization, and guardrail and roadway safety improvements.
- Department of Environmental Services (ENV):
- Three vacancies in the Collection System Maintenance Division
- Three vacancies in the Environmental Quality Division
- One vacancy in the Wastewater Engineering & Construction Division
- One vacancy in the Office of Administrative Support Division
- Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM):

Minimum Qualification RequirementsAt the time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
Education RequirementEquivalent to graduation from a regionally‑accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty.
Experience RequirementOne year of registered professional civil engineering experience.
License Requirement- Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required.
- Possession of a valid license as a professional Civil Engineer in the State of Hawaii.

Applicants with a current out‑of‑state professional Civil Engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
