Description: The Network Engineer will be responsible for deploying, testing, and optimizing network and system services. The role includes configuration management, operational readiness of network systems, and direct troubleshooting and fault‑finding for network problems. The successful candidate will have documented experience with DoD networks, systems engineering, technical studies, technology assessments, and information systems security policy compliance. They will be able to articulate complex issues and proposed resolutions to both technical and non‑technical government customers.

- 8+ years of Network Engineering experience in a Cisco environment

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

Responsibilities:
- 5+ years of experience with detailed understanding of network and security appliances
- Installation, configuration, and support of network appliances
- Installation and configuration of physical components, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN gateways
- Hardening devices such as DoD STIG’ing and SCAP scanning
- Utilization of network monitoring, management, and other tools to ensure security and performance
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Aruba, Cisco ISE, and F5
- Experience with Wi‑Fi standards such as 802.1ac and 802.11ax
- Implementation and troubleshooting of routing/switching protocols
- PKI implementation and IPsec communications between routers
- Generating CSRs and installing certificates on network devices
- Firewall rule and ACL application
- Layer 3 and Layer 7 load balancers
- 802.1X standards
- ACAS scanning configuration
- Effective verbal and written communication with SMEs and Program Managers
- Availability for on‑call support
Requirements:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum)
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer focused on Cisco and/or Juniper appliances/environments
- 2+ years working on MCEN and DoD environments
- Solid technical understanding of network architectures, appliances, security appliances, application services, virtual environments, management tools, and protocols
- Ability to use software, tools, and scripts for configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of network equipment
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting network problems
- Good working experience with switching technologies and concepts
Work Environment: Supporting the Marine Expeditionary Force on a military base.
