This role is within Mission Technologies’ Global Security (GS) group which supports naval and maritime defense systems and advanced LVC solutions. The Engineer Systems 3 – JLVC Capability Manager supports operational testing, development, and integration of Navy and Marine Corps live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training systems at the Training Support Center, Marine Corps Base Kaneohe Bay, HI. The position requires flexibility to adjust duties and responsibilities as business and contractual needs evolve.
Responsibilities- Provide subject matter expertise on joint LVC federate simulations and tools to meet specified training objectives.
- Train BSC staff and end users on installation, initialization, user roles, and participation in training events.
- Conduct continuing education activities to promote awareness of emerging JLVC capabilities and development roadmaps.
- Initialize and employ instances of JLVC federate simulations to meet training objectives.
- Manage local simulation artifacts for each federate and align them with Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM) versions and local training adjustments.
- Support continuous refinement of enterprise documentation regarding JLVC federates’ capabilities and best practices.
- Assist the Federation Manager in federating instances of JLVC simulations and tools.
- 5 years relevant experience with a Bachelors degree in a related field; or 3 years with a Masters; or 9 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Linux command line and Windows operating systems.
- Technical leadership ability to address issues during LVC training events and coordinate appropriate engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction across all organizational levels.
- Familiarity with MS Office.
- Current CompTIA Security+ certification required.
- Current US Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline and 6‑8 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as HLA and DIS.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP.
- Experience with MS Visio for technical architecture drawings.
- Knowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems such as Link‑16 and GCCS.
- Experience working with Navy systems and/or commands.
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
