Job Description

Chamberlain College of Nursing needs qualified Mental Health Clinical Faculty (part‑time) for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Honolulu, Oahu, Maui, Lanai and Kauai Hawaii. As a Part‑Time Visiting Professor you will inspire motivated students to achieve their educational and career goals while enjoying a flexible schedule, excellent compensation, strong mentorship and support programs, and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities
  • Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system and profession.
  • Take responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
  • Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
  • Be available to staff at the agencies.
  • Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on performance based on course objectives.
  • Be available for student remediation as required.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures and expectations with assistance from agency/clinical personnel.
  • Develop and post written clinical assignments tailored to each student’s knowledge base, skill competency and learning needs.
  • Return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the programs and the College.
  • May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
  • Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Collaborate with college administration, staff and other faculty to improve overall operation and student satisfaction rates.
  • Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and departmental and campus policies.
  • Serve as a professional role model in customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance and general professionalism.
  • Utilize relationship skills for group problem‑solving, consensus building and win‑win negotiation.
  • Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
  • Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight.
  • Handle related duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (required).
  • At least 2 years of experience within the last five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Excellent communication skills with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment.
  • Professional nurse licensure is required in the state of practice.
  • Illinois RN license will be required to teach all courses; assignments will prioritize professors currently licensed in Illinois.
Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position – Campus:
In support of pay transparency laws, the expected compensation rate is between $1,120 and $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job‑related factors permitted by law such as type of course taught, experience, training, geographic location, licensure, certifications, market factors, departmental budgets and responsibilities.
