Gift Shop Associate

North Star Memorial Group is seeking a Gift Shop Associate to support daily operations at the historic Byodo In Temple in Kaneohe Hawaii. This role helps ensure visitors have a positive and memorable experience while assisting across the gift shop, ticket booth, and other temple areas as needed. Full-time associates receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off that accrues each pay period, on-the-job training, and a 401(k) with employer matching after qualifying time worked.

Weekend availability and flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Great & assist customers ensuring they have a positive experience
• Maintain the flow of customers waiting in line to check out
• Maintain store cleanliness & organization, restock shelves & merchandising to ensure proper product display
• Merchandising & inventory, conduct stock checks, receive & process shipments
• Provide product & cultural knowledge
• Accurately & efficiently operate Point of Sales system to handle sales transactions & returns
• Support & collaborate as a team member

Qualifications

• Ability to work within a team
• Reliable & punctual with a strong work ethic
• Highly Self-motivated
• Positive, friendly and respectful attitude
• Willingness to learn, able to take direction
• Basic math skills
• Retail & Customer service experience preferred (not required)
• Excellent Communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods & lift up to 40lbs

Compensation Range

• $16 - $17.50/hr.
