Responsibilities

  • Lead Mattress Firm’s vision and company initiatives, achieving sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for in‑store merchandising across multiple store units.
  • Drive selling programs and related KPI results while supporting the omni‑channel experience.
  • Ensure the team consistently puts the customer at the center and creates an engaging environment for MFRM team members.
  • Coach and develop associates’ skills and performance, fostering a collaborative and motivated team dedicated to success.
  • Conduct new‑hire onboarding and team building: one‑on‑one meetings, developing a team bio‑book, and 30‑60‑90‑day check‑ins.
  • Manage workforce activities: staffing schedules, punch reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with company policies, appearance standards, and state regulations.
  • Represent the company brand professionally in all internal and external interactions.
  • Follow procedures for product transfers and inventory documentation.
  • Strategically plan and analyze reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels; partner with leadership to adjust staffing.
  • Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers; serve as subject‑matter expert.
  • Identify skill gaps from reporting data and address them through coaching.
  • Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
  • Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards.
  • Plan and monitor the store’s social media strategy in partnership with marketing.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, manage stock inventory, and review merchandise flow for accuracy.
  • Handle cash procedures, payment acceptance, deposits, and invoicing in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain awareness of competition, advertising, and services; develop strategies to counter.
  • Conduct store‑level inventory processes, investigate discrepancies, and partner with leadership and corporate partners as needed.
  • Lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds and stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time.
  • Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Experience leading retail store management and achieving sales performance goals.
  • Strong coaching, communication, and customer‑centric skills.
  • Ability to plan strategically and analyze performance data.
  • Physical capacity to stand or sit for 8+ hours and lift 50+ pounds.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
