Position SummaryV-22 Osprey experience preferred.
The Aircraft Mechanic 1 will assist Aircraft Mechanic 1s, 2s, and 3s with troubleshooting, removal, replacement, and/or installation of MV‑22 aircraft components across organizational levels. Responsibilities span multiple specialties including landing gear, hydraulic systems, flight controls, avionics, engines, fuel systems, and more.
Responsibilities- Assist in scheduled, unscheduled, calendar, conditional, and special inspections per MRCs, IETMS, Technical Directives, Schematics and as assigned by Maintenance Control.
- Inspect, remove, replace, troubleshoot, and rig Blade Fold Wing Stow systems, engines, gearboxes, flight critical component repairs, rigging of flight controls and surfaces, hydraulic components and assemblies, Sliprings, FADECs, WIAs, BFCUs, CMS, and calibrate avionics systems.
- Operate support equipment for all work‑center operations, including flight‑line maintenance and installed aircraft system equipment.
- Quickly learn DoD IETMS and related maintenance publications, orders, and directives and document maintenance actions.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, directives, engineering data, and specifications to determine repair methods.
- Work cooperatively, communicate, and be team oriented to facilitate other maintenance operations.
- Cross‑train and assist in multiple specialties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of mission requirements.
- Perform physical tasks necessary to accomplish maintenance assignments.
- Three (3) years actual and recent systems experience required.
- Ability to quickly learn the NALCOMIS reporting system to document discrepancies and repairs.
- Knowledge of Naval Aviation Maintenance Publications such as the 4790.2 series and IETMS.
- Previous CDI experience preferred.
- APU, BFWS, EWIS, Hydraulic Contamination, Fuel Surveillance, Tire and Wheel, and all other qualifications directed within 180 days of hire.
- If military experience, provide JST.
- Candidates must supply their own tools within 10 days of hire; specialty tools will be provided.
Must obtain and maintain a DoD Public Trust or SECRET security clearance and a CAC for base and Military website access. US citizenship is required to obtain a DOD Public Trust or Secret Clearance.
Salary and Other CompensationHourly rate: $44.34 per hour. Plus $7.30 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, for Health & Welfare.
