Position: SOCIAL SERVICE AID II, III AND ASSISTANT IV (CHILD WELFARE SERVICES) - STATEWIDE (WIKIWIKI)

Duties Summary

These positions are located in the Child Welfare Services Branch of the Department of Human Services and are responsible for providing supportive services to social service professionals through extensive fieldwork and outreach services. The CWSB provides services for child protection, foster care, adoption, independent living skills, case management, foster home recruitment, licensing, and contracted support and treatment services to prevent and remedy abuse and neglect.

  • Social Service Aid II – $3,201 per month (SR‑07, Step

    C)
  • Social Service Aid III – $3,333 to 4,221 per month (SR‑09, Step C to I)
  • Social Service Assistant IV – $3,606 to 4,563 per month (SR‑11, Step C to I)
Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Citizenship, nationality, permanent resident alien or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent; or experience demonstrating the ability to read, comprehend and apply written directions, verbal skill, and basic mathematical computations.
  • Specialized experience: at least 1 year for Level II, 2 years for Level III, 3 years for Level IV in providing supportive services to professional workers in a social service or health‑related agency, including clerical tasks, transportation of clients, explaining services, and assisting in group activities.
  • Valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.
  • Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.
