SUMMARY

This position provides instruction to students and performs a wide variety of tasks with curriculum planning, supervision, presenting and reinforcing learning concepts, and teaching children in a classroom setting.

DUTIES

Possesses knowledge of disciplines taught, including structures, central concepts and skills, prerequisite relationships, and methods of inquiry.

Makes content accessible to students by understanding and addressing preconceptions, presenting ideas in comprehensible and powerful ways, and thoughtfully implementing the most effective approaches.

Sets instructional outcomes that reflect appropriate grade-level standards, support student learning in multiple contexts, represent learning of important content, and that integrate different areas of academic and social/emotional development.

Plans tasks and activities that match learning outcomes, promote student collaboration, encourage higher-level thinking, and create opportunities to engage with meaningful content.

Develops multiple strategies and approaches tailored to individual student needs and their appropriate level of challenge.

Promotes student collaboration in instruction that builds on students' strengths.

Structures lesson and unit plans to ensure a cohesive flow to support student learning and development.

Designs and implements learning experiences that respect and build upon students' identities, lived experiences, and current knowledge and skills to promote meaningful engagement and academic growth.

Creates developmentally appropriate learning environments that address the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional needs of all students.

Utilizes high-quality instructional materials and digital tools to deliver rigorous, engaging, and accessible content tailored to student needs.
