Adjunct - Physical & Technical Science

Teaches course(s) as assigned.

• Provides instruction and evaluates student performance for each instructional assignment.
• Selects and reviews educational strategies and materials to facilitate achievement of competencies related to each course taught.
• Prepares current syllabi and instructional materials in accordance with course master syllabi, college policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with colleagues to review and revise curriculum, teaching materials, and teaching methods to promote student success and lifelong learning.
• Meets classes as scheduled by the College.
• Maintains and provides attendance and grade records for each class.
• Assesses student learning outcomes at the class, course, and program levels as defined by the faculty Assessment Committee.
• Works in a collaborative manner and responds to phone and email requests promptly.
• Provides students additional or academically related assistance on an individual basis, and/or refers to other appropriate resources.
• Follows the policies and procedures of the College.
• Maintains regular contact with the Division Associate Dean and/or program director/coordinator.
• Adheres to the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the College.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned by the supervisor.

• May participate in in-service development activities.
• May attend commencement ceremonies.
• May attend division meetings.
• May serve on college committees as appropriate.

• Transfer level courses require a master's degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate credit in the discipline. Specializations include anatomy and physiology courses and physical science courses.
• Prior experience as an excellent, innovative teacher with the use of instructional technologies desirable; community college teaching experience preferred. Experience required may vary with division and program.
• Qualified candidate must have excellent reading, writing, computation skills and computer literacy.

Pay is determined upon hire.
