Teach undergraduate course(s) in Biology,
particularly Microbiology
, within the Liberal Arts and Sciences Division. The faculty member will be responsible for delivering course content, assessing student performance, and providing feedback to students in the assigned courses.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and deliver undergraduate courses in Biology, particularly Microbiology, using various instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory activities.
  • Assess student performance, provide regular feedback to students, and act as a learning resource to a diverse student population.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop course content and instructional material.
  • Respond to student inquiries in a timely fashion.
  • Follow all college policies and procedures related to instruction, grading, and other academic activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and submit grades in a timely manner.
  • Assist student in achieving the completion of the learning outcomes.
  • Ensure that all courses meet the required standards.
  • Follow the policies and procedures of the college as stated in the KCC Adjunct Faculty Handbook and the KCC Adjunct Faculty Association Contract.
  • Maintain regular contact with the LAS Dean.
Other Responsibilities
  • Will primarily work in a classroom and lab setting.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by the LAS Dean.
  • May require some evening work.
  • May attend the commencement program.
  • May require the ability to stand for extended periods and to lift and carry equipment and supplies as needed.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Biology or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Biology.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in Biology or related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current research and trends in Biology.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and student learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and staff.

Pay is determined upon hire.
