Bilingual Substitute Teacher
Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has openings for bilingual substitute teachers in our ELL, dual language, and bilingual classrooms. The goal of this position is to effectively assume teaching responsibilities in a classroom during a teacher's absence, ensuring that learning continues even though the classroom teacher is not present. The ideal candidate will effectively implement the lesson plans that have been left by the teacher, integrate the lesson plans into positive learning experiences, maintain established standards of classroom management and student behavior needed to achieve a functional, respectful, and productive learning atmosphere, maintain professional competence in one's abilities to provide quality instruction, perform essential job functions while ensuring the health and safety of others, cooperate with other teaching professionals in the classroom and throughout the school building, report to the teacher through written communication the activities completed in the classroom during the teacher's absence, and report to the school office when arriving to substitute.
Complete various duties as assigned by the teacher or building administration. Requirements include a valid Illinois Professional Educator License or Substitute License, a bachelor's degree, maintaining a positive attitude, demonstrating flexibility, displaying excellent interpersonal communication skills, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment or materials. Fluent in both English and Spanish. Rate: $140 per day.
