Education:

Bachelor’s Degree (required)

This position provides instruction to students and performs a wide variety of tasks with curriculum planning, supervision, presenting and reinforcing learning concepts, and teaching children in a classroom setting.

• Teaches district-approved curriculum.
• Instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study using a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Protects students, equipment, materials, and facilities; follows safety guidelines.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; communicates objectives to students.
• Assists in diagnosing learning disabilities with the assistance of district specialists.
• Evaluates academic and social growth; keeps records and prepares progress reports.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
• Provides help and answers education-related questions to students and parents during the school day.
• Supervises students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and on field trips.
• Distributes and collects tests and homework assignments.
• Enforces administration policies and rules governing students.
• Grants grades for homework and tests and records results using appropriate methods.
• Performs other duties reasonably related to the position as assigned by Building Administrators or Superintendent.

• Familiarity with computers (email, Internet, word processing, spreadsheets).
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions; communicate with students, parents, and staff in a courteous manner.

• Bachelor’s Degree (required)
• Teaching license for the position as required by the State

• Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
• Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects, including the human body
• Light work usually requires walking or standing for significant periods

• Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/classroom environment
• Very limited or no exposure to physical risk
