Hardware Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join the Hardware Platform Development team. This role is responsible for the design, development, validation, and support of Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and related electrical/electronic hardware systems for next-generation automotive platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in automotive hardware development, including board-level design, schematic and PCB layout reviews, hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation.
The engineer will collaborate closely with software engineers, validation teams, manufacturing partners, and suppliers to deliver high-quality, production-ready electronic systems.
- Design and develop ECU hardware solutions in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Review and validate electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and component selections.
- Perform hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, system integration, and functional validation.
- Develop and maintain hardware documentation, including: design specifications, bill of materials (BOM), schematics, test plans.
- Partner with software engineers to support low-level hardware/software integration and debugging.
- Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations for hardware issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers during prototype and production builds.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards, internal engineering guidelines, and industry regulations.
- Assist in developing manufacturing and production test procedures for ECU hardware.
- Support prototype and pre-production builds, including hardware modifications and rework.
- Monitor technical risks, project schedules, quality metrics, and delivery timelines.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience designing and developing ECUs or embedded electronic hardware systems.
- Strong proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
- Experience with: hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, hardware validation and testing.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Flex Ray, Automotive Ethernet.
- Hands-on experience using laboratory equipment such as: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies.
- Understanding of: ISO 26262 Functional Safety, EMI/EMC design considerations.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of connected vehicle, infotainment, and communication systems.
- Familiarity with automotive quality and development processes, including: DFMEA, DVP&R.
