Plant Accounting Manager
Lead the financial processes of the month-end close, cost variance reconciliations, inventory reconciliations, GL entries, standard cost reconciliations, changes in fixed assets, P&L, and forecast adjustments to budget. Held responsible to ensure all plant accounting activities comply with GAAP, policies, and sound business practices.
Responsibilities• Supervise and direct the Accounting Team by mentoring and fostering relationships. Involved in hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, establish and track goals, etc.
• Responsible for all accounting activities within the facility, including general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable and receivables, cash management and fixed asset management.
• Preparing annual budgets, monthly/quarterly forecasts, monthly and year-end financial statements, performance-to-actual analysis and daily operating updates.
• Responsible for compliance with all internal control procedures.
• Product costing and analysis.
• Responsible for inventory control and cycle count and physical inventory activities.
• Leads continuous improvement and cost control initiatives.
• Proactively interact with supervisors, management team as well as senior management to ensure all parties have a clear and accurate picture of the plant’s overall financial performance.
• An advisor/mentor on accounting/finance to plant leadership aiding the decision-making process.
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:• Bachelor's Degree (Accounting/Finance) from four-year College or University. Master’s Degree, CPA or CMA Preferred.
• 8+ years of direct experience in a Manufacturing environment.
• Experience in manufacturing accounting roles with a focus on cost accounting, manufacturing planning & budgeting.
• 4+ years of direct supervisory experience overseeing the Accounting Department.
• Solid knowledge, understanding, and experience with GAAP.
• Proven ability to thrive and succeed in a “fast paced” work environment.
• Ability to understand all changes in manufacturing strategy and provide insight & commentary.
• Execution oriented and rigorous in meeting performance commitments.
• Strong manufacturing background in quantitative analyses & ability to solve complex problems.
• Solid verbal & written communication, analytical & leadership skills.
