The Rebate Reconciliation team is responsible for reconciling rebate payments from manufacturers with the invoices for those rebates. The Rebate Reconciliation Process Manager position supports the team both as an individual contributor performing reconciliation duties on the most complex accounts and as a leader providing coaching, training, and management oversight to other team members, developing, and designing optimal processes for the reconciliation function, leading projects, and solving complex and escalated issues.
This position works closely with various internal partners including Invoicing, Research, Accounting, Client Support and Trade Relations and external partners such as Pharmaceutical Manufacturers. A successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables with strict deadlines and to apply sound judgement to adjust priorities based on business needs
- Ability to mentor and coach other team members at all levels Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential as this position interfaces with various levels both within the organization and with external pharmaceutical company contacts.
The Rebate Reconciliation Process Manager is responsible for the following:
- Maintain collaborative communication channel with pharmaceutical manufacturers to ensure payment within contract terms
- Communicate with pharmaceutical manufacturers regarding variances and disputes
- Provide coaching and expert guidance to other Reconciliation Team members at all levels including direct supervision of contractors and oversight of other Analyst level team members.
- Lead department projects and initiatives to achieve department objectives. Identify process improvement and system enhancement opportunities to reduce costs, minimize processing time, improve controls, or increase client/manufacturer satisfaction.
- Create innovative solutions to improve processes and financial controls Define requirements for new and enhanced tools to maintain and improve financial controls and create efficient processes for the reconciliation function.
- Design, develop and document process changes Design and deliver communication/training on existing processes and process/system changes
- Maintain accurate documentation and training materials for existing processes
- Lead testing efforts for system enhancements and defect fixes Research complex issues and conduct root cause analysis to identify solutions to prevent issues
- Conduct both routine and ad hoc analysis and reporting to support departmental objectives
- Other tasks/duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years financial or analytical experience.
- 5+ years' experience in MS Excel (advanced skills required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with contract administration, financial and/or data analysis, reconciliations, and complex processes.
- PBM or pharmaceutical manufacturer experience and knowledge of pharmaceutical products.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Math, or Economics preferred (or equivalent work experience).
