Employee Benefits Coordinator

Responsible for the compliance, guidance and administration of all employee benefits, retirement, leave administration and wellness programs. Provides continual assessment and process improvement in all areas.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments for all new hires and during open enrollment with accurate eligibility information.
  • Assists with new-hire orientations and conducts benefit education.
  • Supports Total Rewards Manager and Total Rewards Coordinator.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities and works with appropriate HRBP, manager and or vendor.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
  • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in HR or related field is preferred. In lieu of degree, will consider relevant experience in similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality when dealing with employee matters & information.
  • 3+ years of administering Retirement 401k, Health, Welfare, and Wellness programs, including benefits communications, open enrollment, and new employee onboarding.
  • Experience with HCM; reporting, analysis, data entry, Benefit Plan configuration, preferably ADP.
  • Familiar and understanding with COBRA, ERISA, HIPPA, FSA, HAD, ACA, Wage & Hour / FLSA regulations.
  • Detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, problem solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
